Why Sea & Sarong?

I can only speak for myself on this one, as Rosie probably has her own story to tell. S & S was the byproduct of a pretty solid cross road in my life -- a job resignation and a super fun break up (good times!). So I went home to take some time out. But as we know, the devil makes work for idle hands and the mind can go a bit crazy. So I turned to mum and said, "I want to start a business, do you want to do it with me." Rosie’s a goer so of course she said yes. Love you ma.
I always knew which avenue I’d go down -- coastal wear of some sort. Bikini's, as much as I adore them wasn’t quite right as most girls on the planet are giving that a crack. So for me it was moving to the next thing that I spend most of my time wearing in summer. Overswim, sarongs, pareos, whatever you wish to call them.
From the initial drawing board, long brainstorming sessions (over vino of course) there were MANY backwards and forwards with our supplier, Emma, one patient woman right there! Emma you’re a legend and I’m sorry I asked you the same question 100 times just to be sure you were picking up what I was putting down.
A good friend of mine took on the task of building the website (cheers Rach!) and amazing people in my life took photographs, modelled and gave welcomed advice. So we want to say the biggest thank you in the world to those absolute gems who helped get Sea & Sarong off the ground, also to those who have shown nothing but support and encouragement (you know who you are).
It may not allow us to quit our day jobs and it may not buy me that rangey but we’re learning as we go and enjoying the ride. xx
